The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State has declared its readiness to contest and win all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

The State Chairman of the party, Kolo Bukar, made the declaration on Sunday shortly after the inauguration of the party’s executives in Maiduguri.

Bukar said the party was well-grounded in the political dynamics of the state and prepared to offer an alternative leadership to the people.

“We understand the terrain and the people of Borno. Our goal is to provide relief, good governance and meaningful change across the state,” he said.

He criticised the ruling party, alleging failure in addressing key challenges, including insecurity and poverty affecting residents.

According to him, the ADC is committed to tackling these issues and improving the living conditions of citizens if elected into power.

Also speaking, a chieftain of the party, Kashim Matawalle, said the party’s ambition goes beyond winning elections, stressing its focus on delivering effective governance.

“We aim to take over governance in Borno and across Nigeria, with a commitment to addressing insecurity and improving the welfare of the people, especially the poor,” Matawalle said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event marked the formal inauguration of ADC executives in the state as part of preparations for future electoral contests.
